David McKee

David Edwards McKee, 75, of Bozeman, Montana, died Feb. 20, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. Dave was raised in Westtown, Pennsylvania and attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Upon graduation, he entered the Air Force as a second lieutenant and after 4 1/2 years of service, was given an honorable discharge as Captain. Soon thereafter, Dave started Expanko Cork Company.

In 1968, Dave and Judith Knepper were married. They raised their two sons, Dave and Rob in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In 2000, Dave and Judy moved to Bozeman, Montana, where he served as a volunteer fireman and member of the board of the Bridger Canyon Fire Department.

Dave had a good sense of humor and held family and friends as his top priority. He was a caring husband, a respected father, and loving grandfather. Passions included golf and fishing as well as platform tennis and chopping and splitting endless quantities of wood. Two golf balls, perhaps his most prized possessions, remain on his desk, each representing a hole-in-one and countless days, of trying. Dave’s persistence, his generosity and genuine good nature will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Knepper McKee of Bozeman, Montana; son, David Russell McKee and his wife Cornelia H. McKee of Bozeman, Montana; son, Robert Edwards McKee and his wife Alexandra McKee of Woodville, Virginia; his grandsons, Jack and Charlie McKee of Bozeman, Montana, Winston and Van McKee of Woodville, Virginia; and his sister, Margot McKee of Westtown, Pennsylvania.

A memorial service will be held at the Springhill Presbyterian church in Bozeman, Montana, on June 17. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) 100 W. 10th St, #1103, Wilmington, DE 19801.
